At the Loan & Merc, we try to keep it simple, fresh and tasty. We use seasonal local and organic produce, cure and smoke meats and fish in-house and also make our own chutneys, relishes and sauces – everything carefully created by the Loan & Merc kitchen team and accompanied by an excellent selection of Wines, Beers and Ales, Coffees and non-alcoholic Beverages served by our friendly front-house team :-)

The Loan & Merc Breakfast (served until 11.30am, an abstract)
- Egg Hemingway with house smoked salmon, poached egg on brioche toast, onion jam & hollandaise sauce

- The L&M famous Rabbit, Venison and Pickled Walnut Pie

- The Waitaki Valley Braised Lamb Shoulder
- The L&M Ploughman’s Plate or Boards to share

The Loan & Merc EVENING Carvery (available every day from 7pm)
Our chef cuts a choice of delicious meats straight to your plate. Served with Brydone organic potatoes, fresh garden vegetables, salad and your choice of sauces and homemade chutneys.

Additionally, we offer delicious seasonal Desserts like the Fruit Crumble
or the Belgian flourless Chocolate Cake and diversified Dinner Entrees from 5pm like the Titi Mutton Bird or the House Smoked Meat Plate, have an all day long Bar Menu with homemade Sausages, Cheese Plate or a Soup of the day and daily Blackboard Specials.*
